about

OAKUM was Recorded/Mixed on the Stage at CCRMA - Stanford University, December 2016/January 2017 by Eoin Callery

Physical version available on CD from Eh? Records San Francisco: www.publiceyesore.com/ehcat.php?eh=95

Each of the five pieces is a live performance that utilizes a series of overlapping automated limited band-pass filtered feedback patches, controlled with SuperCollider. Occasionally the Supercollider patches are further processed - EQ, Reverb, and Thomas Mundt's amazing Loudmax Limiter - in Logic Audio.

Oakum: fibrous strands obtained by plucking and picking apart old ropes, a task often performed during the 18th and 19th centuries by inmates in prisons and workhouses
